Merry Christmas
Wait, so does it HAVE to be installed in order to keep it? I can't just let it sit in my library after claiming the free copy from the store? What happens if I decide to uninstall it later on?
shit i wasted £3.49 when I bought it

I guess it's the same as with Portal some years ago, and I don't always have Portal installed.

I assume you can just click install, then delete the game files.
I smell a L4D3 announcement soon.
what about giving support and good updates....
what about giving support and good updates....
That requires Chet to do work.
what about giving support and good updates....
Only one guy at Valve wants to work on it at the moment.
[editline]gosh darn[/editline]
God damn it Lijitsu!
So does this require a steam account with another game on it? I know a ton of people who come to my LAN parties but don't have a steam account, and I don't want to screw them over

If they've got a couple bucks they can pick up something super cheap, like Fortix or something, just to be sure of it.

back when portal was free that's the only game I had on my steam account. You should have no problems.
All these welfare gamers trying to get their Obamacare copy of L4D2 are literally killing Steam.

Highly doubtful or they would have said...As long as someone registers a Steam account they can get it.
Can't get into store for hours, damn it.
And the steam store if completely offline

You don't remember a few months ago when EA was literally giving away free games that were like ~$20, and you got a choice, and you could do it multiple times? I got Mass Effect 1/2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam for free. Don't diss EA as far as giving free shit

The coupon? Yeah, apparently it wasn't configured properly so you could actually use the voucher an infinite amount of times.
Majority if not, MOST people on Steam already have Left4Dead2. They are giving it away for free becuase they most people have this game.
In the meanwhile Dota 2 is utterly crushed, decapitated and RAPED

Apparently not considering the steam store was down for hours after the announcement.

That was a mistake. EA did some good PR work and just let everyone keep the stuff rather than subject themselves to the ridicule. It was only a $20 coupon though, so anything that cost more than $20 you still had to put money down on
Wow thanks Valve, that was the only Valve game I didn't have yet, now my Valve collection is complete.
Anyone who still wants L4D2, could you try this link and see if it works?
steam://install/550
I think Valve should make DoD;s free next. Boost that community and update it!
what about giving support and good updates....
You nuts? Did you forget about The Passing, Cold Stream, Mutations, Modding-Support, Workshop and The Sacrifice?

It means that older cpus that don't support SSE2 can run the game.

I thought Chet died or something
I thought Chet died or something
He finished up CS:GO and flew off into the sun to return to his birthplace
