• Good, Free, Editing Software

For a long time now I have been trying my best to make Let's Plays and other videos, but I never like the outcome. The main reason of this is because my editing software (Windows Live Movie Maker) sucks shit. It lacks man features like color correction, moving text, overlays and otherwise (though I'm sure you all know how bad WMM really is) So, because I lack the money to afford the fancy editing software, I need to know if there is any good editing software that is easy to use and provides many more features than Windows Movie Maker. I am kind of hoping there is something like how GIMP is, where there is something styled like Premier or After Effects but free and lacks some of those features, but I can only hope.
Well Some time ago I had the same issue. Too much of a moralfag to pirate, and Windows Movie Maker was shit before they removed the Timeline feature. I looked among the options and decided on Kdenlive, and have since made 2 extensive videos with it that worked very well. It's very stable on my system and has advanced features, but isn't quite the professional studio shit I suppose. The only problem is it's Linux/Mac OSX only. As far as free software goes Linux can be a haven sometimes, there was a list of several free video makers for that platform somewhere, which directed me to Kdenlive.
I hear Lightworks is pretty good.
