About 4 months ago, I broke the digitizer on my iPod touch. I went with a 3rd party company. Now I'm about to send my Pod back to Apple because it's actually pretty borked for a totally different reason.Replacing the digitizer is a pretty standard thing so I am hesitant as to wether it will be detectable or not. Will they be able to tell someone else has replaced the digitizer, because if they do, that would be a pretty good excuse to void my warrenty and completely fuck me over. Is there some seal that will have been broken that will give the game away?
Anyone have previous experience of this?
So long as it was a genuine apple part you replaced it with, youll be alright.
So you don't think it will be detectable? They won't be able to go. "Hang on... the digitizers been replaced... but there's nothing on our records OH SHIT 3RD PARTY REPAIRS :cop:"

it could happen, but most likely won't. I had a 3rd party repair on my 2006 iMac when the screen died, then it died again a week later. I took it to the Apple store and there was no problem. I even told the guy I had a 3rd party repair and he shrugged, then he said "Hey, what ever is cheaper. Too bad it wasn't fixed properly."
It's usually a hit or miss with Apple Service. For the most part they shouldn't mind, unless you get the, "This iPod is damaged because it was opened and repaired by someone not from Apple;" Excuse.

I hate those people. Makes me want to jump over the counter and dropkick them.
