Im trying to keep it under 20£ really and thats a bit to high? Which one is the best from that list? [editline]02:01PM[/editline] Cooler Master Hyper TX3 is good?
hyper 212 is the best air cooler you can get and its very cheap.. save up some more money and buy it
Ah i ordered it, i just thought that there would be no point spending like 10pounds more but if you guys recommend it i get it

personally id shell out the full price and go with a NH-D14.
Already orderd a 212 to late
Already orderd a 212 to late
When you get it can you make a thread/pm me about how much it lowered your temps please?
well i have a hyper 212 and i have my i5-750 oc to 3.6 and its sitting at 43 c at idle and 70c at full load
if its only at 3.6 and idling at 43c there's something wrong
yeah i think i have to reapply the thermal paste, i've changed its sitting position a few times. But its doing the job for the time being, im ordering a Corsair H50. Kinda excited for it
did you turn up voltage
nope, i dont know how to OC through the bios, my Mobo is a msi P55 GD 65, so it has OC genie on it, which does it, itself
Automatic OC tools are bad, they always put too much voltage on the cpu, just learn how to OC fromt he bios, its not hard
Yeah it might not be that hard but honestly i dont wanna take the chance and fuck something up
Yeah it might not be that hard but honestly i dont wanna take the chance and fuck something up
you could easy push it to 4ghz which a fsb increase and maybe a tad more voltage
Yeah but will the temps change.. maybe my temps too high cause of what oc genie is doing? i know on my mobo i can punch the base clock up and it increase's my core clock
if the oc tool is upping the voltage, and you get the voltage to stock, and maybe increase it a tiny bit, your temps will go down
well to get everything back to stock settings with my i5 i can just turn off oc genie.. but the thing is though i still dont know what voltages should every thing should be at ie ram, etc.. also what my cpu multiplier should be set at to OC
keep your ram the same and does your cpu have an unlocked multi? i havent played with an i5
What do u mean my a unlocked multi? all i know as of right now from cpuz is my multiplier is at x 17 BTW sorry for doing this in your thread OP
just up the FSB a bit, see if its stable, up it again, and continue, if it becomes unstable a bit higher, up the voltage just a small ammount, but not much [editline]01:38AM[/editline] 1.4v isnt needed on an oc to 3.5ghz
what do u mean by FSB... i need regular terms, ie since i dont know what im doing all that much lol
Front side bus [editline]01:41AM[/editline] or bus speed
what do u mean by FSB... i need regular terms, ie since i dont know what im doing all that much lol
Front Side Bus
So increasing FSB, and the multiplier ? also should i run prime95 everytime i put it up a lil? if so how long?
just FSB i dont think you can change the multi on an i5, and a decent amount of time will do, but to me, if it can boot into windows an run a game, s'all good
so its FSB x Multiplier = Core Speed?
yes [editline]01:53AM[/editline] so 225 x 17 = 3.8ghz for example
