• Socket 775 Cooler for Overclocking

Simple question. I am looking for a cooler for my socket 775 processor so I can overclock my e8400 and would like to get some feedback on which one is the best. (cost vs efficiency) Please post links to the product so I can look at cost. (User was banned for this post ("Choose for me / wrong section" - birkett))
Get a frio, i did that with one of my old core 2 quads and it overclocked like crazy.
Is there one that is just as efficient but much cheaper?
Probably this one http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4434989&CatId=1588
I have an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro, and it's one of the best for overclocking an LGA775 chip. Granted, I'm only running a 3.0GHz Pentium 4, that's besides the point. I'll be upgrading to a Core2Quad when I can afford it.

I'm using this one right now: Rosewill First off, it's compatible with just about everything out right now, which means you can use it again when/if you upgrade. Second, it's effective. I'm using it on a P4 Prescott, which you may know runs VERY hot. With stock cooling this CPU was hitting 72C while gaming or running prime95. Plus it was loud as hell since the fan was operating at 100% speed. Now? I can't get it to go higher than 60C no matter what I run. I can play TF2/Company of Heroes/Civ 4 and it tops out at 58C- with the fan only running at 60%! It's quiet as you could want. This is with ambient room temps of 26C and using Speedfan to measure temps and control fan speed. It is pretty huge. It sticks out like most tower coolers, I can post pictures if you want to see. So you need space, if you have a side panel duct or fan it could be a problem. On the plus side, it fits within normal space around the CPU at the base, so it shouldn't be a problem sticking out into your memory sticks like some towers do. In short, this is a good cheap cooler. I used the cheap thermal grease included, you get more than enough. I imagine with better thermal compound it would be even cooler.
Antec 900 Case with a side fan on intake. There will be no problems with size. [editline]06:37AM[/editline] The roswell one looks great, the only thing that i do not approve on it is the pushpins. Those things are a pain in the ass.
There's a Corsair watercooling system which is pretty good for it's price, around £50 in UK. Let me just find a link. [editline]11:48AM[/editline] It's called Corsair H50, I'm not sure how it performs with overclocking, but I can't see how it would perform much worse than any air cooling solution. A friend of mine owns one, so I can't speak of personal experience. I am not really looking for watercooling as it is much more expensive than a processor heatsink/fan. The euro is still worth more than the dollar and i am not looking in those price ranges unless I am upgrading to a quad core or replacing half my components and going for an i5.
I have a common heatsink with fan that actually costs more. But if you can tell me your budget range, it would be a lot easier. [editline]12:01PM[/editline] What I'm trying to say is, €50-60 is not a lot for an awesome cooling system. This system is also silent. But it's up to you.
I forgot to post a budget in the first post, woops. I am looking for $50 or below. I think that is somewhere around €30 or 35 or something like that. That is why i was looking for lower cost for best efficiency. I know I am not getting some super-cooler with my price range. [editline]07:10AM[/editline] I am going to college soon or I would just keep working and save up about 1200 dollars and build a brand new machine and just pass down my current build to my brother.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118223 $49.99 I use this in my Antec 900 case. It's kinda big, but it works.
Really? Wow, for me they're easy as pie. You turn them clockwise, then pop them in. Done.
Not on my fan. I think some are made like shit. I am unable to get two diagonal pins on at the same time no matter how hard I try. Or well almost unable. While I was trying to get one on, one of the pins fell off and I now managed to get the fan on THE WRONG WAY, with only three pins. Cooler Master...

but how does it cool? I couldn't possibly care less what it looks like.
That Rosewill looks like a wannabe Freezer 7 Pro.
It is a very similar design, at half the price. The Rosewill is for people like me- we have older/cheaper parts and need some decent cooling for them. It does not make sense to spend upwards of $40(counting heatsink/fan and quality thermal compound) to cool lower end or moderately overclocked parts. When you have a higher end CPU you've spent a fair amount of money on and/or you have intentions to do some seriously high overclocking- then you are going to not only want but need top quality cooling.

[editline]10:04PM[/editline] So I am debating between the Zalman 9500A, Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus, and the Cooler Master Hyper N520.
I've got a Zalman 9500A running on a Q9550. the fan seems kinda cosmetic, but the heatsink is heavy chunky and does it job really well
