• Dual boot windows 7 and OSX?

Let's just say I'm running windows 7 and I want to dual boot mac osx, is this possible? If so, where can I find a step by step guide that will show me how? I'm not good with this OS stuff so any help would be appreciated. I'm not looking for someone to hold my hand, I just need a nudge in the right direction.
Yea it is. Go to http://www.osx86project.org/ and look around
thanks dude

However running win7 on a mac would be as hard assuming you boot via OSX I don't know much about booting directly from a MAC computer on win7
I find it hard to believe that it would be illegal. They can't tell me what operating system to run on my machine. [editline]09:07PM[/editline] The site Luuper posted seems to be very helpful but I just don't know where to start

"Limneos" on this page seems to know what he's talking about, should I follow his advice? [editline]09:19PM[/editline] http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/2774-osx-windows-7-dual-boot.html
One question; Why would you want to do this again? Don't you dare vote dumb, this is a real question.

Me too
It is illegal, due to the license agreement dictating that you are not allowed to modify, redistribute the OS in any way, but who gives a shit? It should work fine as long as you us the modified version from project x86 OSX
If OSX is so great then why boot another system on there?
Why the fuck not? OSX is a great operating system.
then buy a mac. not because it's illegal but because Apple keeps patching up their shit so OSX86 keeps breaking all the time
then buy a mac. not because it's illegal but because Apple keeps patching up their shit so OSX86 keeps breaking all the time
Yeah, I'll just drop 3000$ on a mac. Of course
Yeah, I'll just drop 3000$ on a mac. Of course
just telling you man. getting it to work on a PC is a nasty process because of lacking drivers and it'll probably take more time than the time you spend using it. you're better off installing a linux distro and putting a mac theme on it.
If OSX is so great then why boot another system on there?
Stop asking stupid questions, you aren't contributing to the thread. There are many reasons why one would want to dual boot windows 7 with os x. For one, os x is very reliable, quick, and simple. Windows 7 has compatibility among many other features.
os x. For one, os x is very reliable, quick, and simple.
except it's not on a PC because apple are dicks
I'm considering it, the osx I got doesn't support much of my hardware and I'm too lazy to fix it so I think I'm just going to do linux.
it's the closest you'll get since linux is a unix clone and OS X is based on UNIX as well.
If you want to setup a dual boot, get EasyBCD, add a new "generic x86 PC" boot option, name it Mac OS X Leopard if you want Leopard, or if you are going to get Snow Leopard, make it one word with no capital letters (I use "snow" on my netbook). Grab a Leopard distro like Ideneb or iPC, and boot into it. I would suggest looking for a guide for your specific computer model on google. Remember that most of your hardware may or may not be supported, I have not been able to get wifi or ethernet working on my netbook, rendering it useless until someone writes a driver. I also STRONGLY recommend getting an account on http://www.insanelymac.com
