Who has been an important figure in your life who has been a major factor to your development?
Examples:
Comedians and in general a varied amount of people from parts of the arts have been big inspirations for me. In particular Jim Henson and many of the writers involved with his productions. I can say that his works have been a major factor in both my sense of humor as well as my writing. I've learned many lessons in my life that are timeless from their writing.
Facepunch for me has been a great place for my time in high school in terms of learning great discussion(Though some could question the difference of great and "interesting") and having great laughs. Facepunch has given me great nights that showed there were still starry nights even if cloudy skies covered them.
My mother has very much most of all been and an important figure in my life. She has had to raise both me and my autistic brother while having a sick husband. While I can say she is still getting me through high school to college and beyond, she has done a fantastic job from what I can tell so far under the circumstances. I'll have to see her influences when I have my children.
Brian Jacques
Rest in peace sir, may your travels forever be remembered.
My dad. He graduated from College a pasty, Scottish man from a not very wealthy family, married my mum and had three kids and is now an executive at Hurley in California.
My Great Grandfather Stewart, who I got my middle name from. Served in WWII as part of the joint task force between US and Canada, 1st Special Service Force also known as the Devil's Brigade. A group of the most badass soldiers of WWII. After the war he was even offered a job in the states to train the newly formed Green Berets, to which he turned down saying "No way in hell, I had to deal with enough Americans during the war."
When ever I feel down or something I just think, if he managed to push on through all that shit during WWII, then I can push through whatever I am dealing with now.
Hamst3r has been a friend of mine since I was in 7th grade back in 2007. He's helped me produce music, host and make a website, helped me with troubles in my life, lives a weird lifestyle, and is great at being a hilarious, creative artist.
Maddox is my favorite asshole.
Louis CK is my favorite weirdo, because he's raw and explains reality much better than anyone I know.
My big brother. Without him my life would probably been very different.
Karl Pilkington
Gotta say my parents, they know very well how to handle money. Neither of them went to high school (hell, my dad never went to middle school) and we still got things pretty good. We live a comfy house with flat screens and cable in nearly every room and fresh home cooking on the table nearly every day of the week. We have a literal stockpile of food from my mom's couponing saved up in a box truck my dad paid for, being the only one who works and on one job. He came to this country an illegal and got hitched with my mom, who then already had a few kids with her. Somehow, through all of these years, he's managed to support those kids and more without ever buckling down or allowing his family to settle for less.
Sure there's been issues between them in the past and many problems along the way, and maybe it's a bit sappy to put it like this, but: The both of them have taught me that no matter how bad you got it, you can always make it through sheer willpower and hard work. Their story inspires me. Love you, mom and dad

My partner. His degree of creativity and kindness both never cease to amaze me.
My past self, his ineptitude only enrages me to do better.
I'm inpsired by my dad. He went from being a kid who got beaten with an iron pipe, to a drug addict, fell through in rehab and became an alcoholic, and after all of this, he somehow has managed to become the best technician in his trade, making roughly $150,000 a year.
My big brother Henry has always been kind of a father figure to me, even though I do have a loving father already. He loves playing with me and helping me out (even though we are complete opposites). He is also very brilliant in the field of Violin where he has been playing since he was 5, and is now in the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (8th best music school in the WORLD), and even then, he's in the best Chamber music group there! Oh yeah, he's also super sexy and masculine.
Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Carl Sagan, Cousteau, various currently active scientists.

Bill Gates, too.

basically anyone that breaks the status quo, does something grand, and uses their power to better everyone.
My big bro. He's been through heavy shit yet makes a hell of a living almost entirely by himself. He introduced me to many of my current favorite things, such as Scott Pilgrim, Garry's Mod, most Valve games, etc. The eight-year difference between us rarely shows, as we're always pretty close. He's chill af too.
Colson 'MGK' Baker, AKA Machine Gun Kelly
Andy Biersack when I was younger, now that I'm a little older I realize he's kind of a dick
Kurt Cobain
This man.
-bad influences-
I have no clue why, but this post made me a lot more than I should have.
I'm surprised no one has said hitler yet
The Protomen. The whole band was formed because someone procrastinated on a final project in a music class and the guy went "FUCK IT LETS JUST DO SOME MEGAMAN SHIT"
I can relate to that.

Ditto, except I still have a lot more work to do
Artisically, I have reached a point where nothing really inspires me anymore except for myself, the feelings and imagery that dwell in my mind. The challenge is trying to translate and create something that stays true with my perspective and mind without having it be an overly self-indulgent show and tell.
As for inspiration for the drive to do things, I don't have that. I kind of end up thiking everyrhing is in vain anyways.

A nihilistic, cynical misanthrope? So inspiring.
