Good games
Must haves this round are AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations, Limbo, L4D2 and Just Cause 2.
Steam should make a Monopoly based game about sales. Seriously, managing these sales and figuring out what to get and what not to get is harder than managing one's own life. Soo many sales, limited money... Fucking Steam man... Winter sales: Not even once. Also, Prince of Persia franchise flash sale, all games for 11€
Assassin's Creed is on sale fuck yes
So apparently the L4D bundle, of which a cut German version exists, is not available over here in Ger, but the Prototypes that are indexed are freely sold.
How is the original Prototype on PC? (I have a Xbox 360 controller if it needs it)
How is the original Prototype on PC? (I have a Xbox 360 controller if it needs it)
Port-wise it's fine. The game itself is decent but has a lot of room for improvement. Can be an absolute blast but may get boring quickly.

Not bad in terms of controls with mouse and keyboard, I like it. Downside is that it does get boring after a while. It's a good pick for a small price imo.
i really enjoyed prototype 2
Prototype 2 is pretty good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some people are saying it's a pretty shoddy port but I never had any issues with it. (One might notice I only have 2 hours on PC version. It's much longer than that. I got the PS3 version a while ago and platinumd it. www.bit.ly/VIm4Jx )
How is the original Prototype on PC? (I have a Xbox 360 controller if it needs it)
Fluid gameplay with lots of little unlocks that add new moves make sure you always have some new gimmick or power to experiment. You can throw tanks into helicopters one second and in the next bodysurf on some poor chap hide behind a corner to shapeshift into a friendly to subvert a base. I didn't need a controller at all. Your main powers are selected with a handful of hotkeys and come with variations based on how you use M1/M2 (+WASD in some cases). Has a radial menu as well that slows time for a few seconds so you can easily switch powers mid-air or something. Plot is simple but works just fine. There's a plot twist that makes a character's development more interesting in retrospect, given the situations they're thrown into. So it's not completely boring to follow, but it probably won't blow your mind. They do use foreshadowing in gameplay and world building tho, so if you pay attention to your character or the world, you might see a few plot points coming. There's additional fluff available in roaming mode in the shape of collectible cutscenes that help piece together the overarching conspiracy. Graphically it can be kinda plastic-y and ugly, but it's usually fine because of how many little things are happening on the screen at once. Stable framerates. Almost comical amounts of gore displayed sometimes, so if you don't fancy driving a tank through town and accidentally collecting a dozen bleeding spinal columns on the way, stay away.
So which Assassin's Creed game is the best? I can only pick up one, so please tell me. I've heard that Brotherhood is the most enjoyable, is this correct?
Yes, get Brotherhood.
Alright thanks.
Personally I found the controls very stiff and not as fluid as in the first game (plus they've removed moves/awkwardly integrated them into others, which I thought felt less free than in the predecessor) and the characters were either boring or, if imported from the first game, downright broken. I found it quite astonishing how they fucked up the very simple characters/factions from Prototype 1. Blackwatch for example was a straight-up "no bullshit" faction from Prototype 1. They were still there to save civvies as shown in the intro cutscene, but they take absolutely no chances as shown in the first cinematic where they kill a bunch of GenTek doctors that might've been infected. They also didn't beg for mercy or something, they were supposed to be the guys that have seen hell and now stop at nothing to prevent it from spilling across the globe. In Prototype 2 they plea for their lives if you hold them up and serve as one half of the "dumb muscle/nerdy scientist" odd couple together with GenTek that's suddenly way above them in terms of chain in command. Mercer [sp]/Blacklight saw the world and the human heart at its darkest, was betrayed by people multiple times and yet it almost sacrificed itself to protect New York in the end, AND the ending cinematic still feels tons of regret for those killed and consumed. In Prototype 2, he's become a mustache-twirling supervillain because some chick in some comic betrayed him. Dana also was a very simple emotional core that always stood with Mercer. Even after she finds out he's eating brains she still says "Look, no matter what, you're still my brother". In Prototype 2, she pulls a complete 180° with no indication of struggle or regret or something. Just the local island's support character that puts missions in your ear. Heck even the protagonist is more boring. Blacklight puzzled together its identity piece by piece, first piece being the scientists implying he has a sister somewhere. From that perspective it's interesting to watch how and in which direction the character grows. In Prototype 2 we got a generic dumb muscle black guy who justifies all his atrocities with his daughter and says it's "the shit" when turning somebody into a living bomb. It's almost out-of-place-comedic compared to the rest. I mean, Prototype was ridiculous in an over-the-top-violence kinda way, but the story had internal consistency of mood and took itself seriously.[/sp] Plus the world is much, much more linear. I do think they've made some real advancements when it comes to graphics and sidequests tho, and the power that rips people into webs is very nice to look at.

However the gameplay and graphics are better in Brotherhood but you'll probably have no idea what's going on with the Ezio story. There was more to AC2 imo.

Everything felt perfect in it for me. Brotherhood is too short and you won't understand the story without playing AC2.
Prototype 2 was awesome. I loved how satisfying the final boss was.
I'm ashamed of you steam. What a ripoff.
I agree with AC2. Mainly because of the amazing cities. Rome felt bland, repetitive and boring to me.
Well, I bought Assassin's Creed 2. Thanks.
Finally bought AC2 and Brotherhood.
No love for Sins of a Solar Empire? At $14 its great value, Rebellion has all the content from the original games so you're not missing out on anything too.
Guys, which Sins of a Solar Empire game should I get; Trinity or Rebellion? Fuck it, I'm just gonna buy Rebellion.
