func_vehicle
- Repacked content to reduce CS:GO disk usage from 6GB to 4.8GB.
That is actually pretty cool
That is actually pretty cool
they should do that to TF2 next
Apparently, according to the recent CS:GO blogpost, fire can be be removed with smoke; that will give smokebombs an alternate (and important) use than just blinding a chokepoint..
I bought CS:GO when they did the free weekend, and even though I can still pick it up for a few hours a day, the community is kinda small still. Most surf/fun servers are dead other than some prime hours, and most everything else either doesn't exist yet or only have one server populated at a time. Also, FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE FUNC_VEHICLE and more maps, please. Why did they even take it out of Beta? The changes they made since seem negligible. [editline]16th November 2012[/editline] Also, I wouldn't completely mind HATS, or some sort of customization. I like how the player models are all different, but its based on what map you're on and you don't get to choose your model. Call me picky >_>
I don't think CS needs customization.
need hats
- Fire can now be extinguished by smoke grenades and deployed smokes now deny fire device detonation and spreading
this is pretty cool
Games should come with customization and the ability for the end user to turn off the ability to see those customization in my opinion. That way, it'd be a win/win. Those who like seeing those hats/costumes/effects would be able to partake in the fun and those who wish to be losers can still be losers. :downs: But, when it comes to CS:GO it shouldn't be items/drops shit like that. Just the ability to change appearances including hats and effects with the tick of a box.
This game needs sprays ASAP
I wonder how exactly they repacked it, that's quite the size reduction
FUNC_VEHICLE 2012
We never got silencers, did we? AND FIX THE 5.7's SLIDE! IT DOESN'T WORKS DAMMIT!
We never got silencers, did we? AND FIX THE 5.7's SLIDE! IT DOESN'T WORKS DAMMIT!
I think they'll never be added

Call me picky >_>
everyone should know by now that if they implement hats into another game they'll surely add microtransactions and maybe even trading, because it's worked really well (financially) for TF2.
so why the hell not do the repack thing on tf2 too.
I wonder how exactly they repacked it, that's quite the size reduction
I'm guessing they removed content they weren't using. And from using the CSGO SDK I've seen a lot of models and textures that I had never seen before. The other possibility is probably using a better container file type to store game data.
Remember when they said the workshop was coming soon? fun times
How does it feel knowing func_vehicle will never be in CS ever again. Valve didnt even make the jeep/airboat work in CS:S which they probably could have done in a week.
About func_vehicle, I mean really, NIPPER and more community map makers would come back to life if they added just that. Hell, he said he'll return to the mapping scene once Valve adds func_vehicle to CS:GO.
valve hates fun so that's not gonna happen
I dont even think Valve would give you an answer if you went to Valve HQ and asked about func_vehicle. I bet everyone would go dead silent and then Gabe comes out of nowhere and says with a straight face "Get out" Then you go home and find out your steam account is deleted. Func_vehicle is taboo with Valve.
Its an easy job for them, maybe they are actually making something better?
Its an easy job for them, maybe they are actually making something better?
Maybe they just want their competetive game to be a competetive game? I think they don't want to add func_vehicle because they don't personally think it belongs to CS.
func_vehicle belongs to CS just as much as surf. That's no excuse.
Yeah, they kept surf and added support and new models for some zombie gamemode but not for func_vehicle? Blasphemy! It's not sarcasm, by the way.
If they added func_vehicle to CS:GO, pretty much most of the people I know who still play CS 1.6 would switch over to CS:GO. It's the only reason I still play 1.6, and I bet Xanatos would port his server to CS:GO if func_vehicle was added.
