I liked this thread; want to see more of it.
This thread is for those inexplicable, creepy, just strange experiences that can happen in games that resonate with you.
Hell it could even be a set of particular circumstances that makes it scary for you in a game. It could be a terrifying glitch. Whatever it is; consider this gaming campfire ghost stories
For me it's about a really recent game. Bloodborne
slight spoiler in the video if you care about the NPC; just don't read the item description if you do care.
This character named iosefka really got to me.
Here's spoilers on why it fucks with me if you want to know (pasting a post of mine about the character from the bloodborne thread)
[sp] The fact that you figure out the iosefka you first talked to (before she asks you to bring people to her clinic) was different to the one when she asks about people for the clinic, you can hear a slight change in her voice (actually has a different voice actor for "imposter" iosefka) You could see a thread cane through the door, originally, but after she's replaced the person can be seen holding a knife through the door. You stumble upon this strange back entrance to iosefka's clinic, breathing in the dark atmosphere of the place. You know something is waiting for you. There's another one of those mysterious blue celestial enemies in the left path, but you find something incredibly interesting on this corpse. Iosefka's blood vial, to show that this creature was actually the end result of Iosefka being experimented on by her imposter? By the way the imposter addresses you when you come into her room, you can tell she must have a profound and intense passion for understanding and researching about the umbillical cords, considering the umbilical cord she drops has a unique item description. She must have wanted to follow the same path of Willem. Another thing to note, is that she appears to be a member of the choir especially because of the attacks she is able to use at this point. I didn't even know she could have this reaction if you choose not to kill her after he warning speech and send another person to her "If the player sends a survivor to the clinic after triggering her warning speech (by following the steps of the third dot of this article), leaving without making her hostile and then returning to talk to her at the initial door, she will freely admit that she is experimenting with old blood on the PNJs you send her and will reward the player with blue elixirs (saluting the birth of kinship). Her speech at this point suggests she is a member of the Choir (which is consistent with the attacks she uses when hostile)." Then ofcourse, one of the biggest points is how she was chosen to have a great one inside her at the red moon. Her last line of dialogue at the red moon accompanied by the unsettling laughing is probably one of the creepier experiences I've had in this game. [/sp]
And the scene that fucked with me

I was playing Lost Alpha (STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Modded Repack / Re-release) and was in one of the underground sections. Creepy laugh goes off once so of course now I'm looking for a mutant.
Wasn't expecting a fridge to go blasting by my head, or the bloodsucker that spawned behind me.
speaking of stalker, damn burer's cry in x18

the only creepy part of this game, and it was fucking creepy as hell.
This might seem weird but the game over screen on yoshi story, when I was a kid that used to scare the crap out of me, it still is very unsettling to me.
The Seahats in Zelda: The Wind Waker used to scare the balls off of me.

They don't seem that scary until you see a bunch of them suddenly load onto the screen hovering around an island in a uniform fashion, and when they divebomb you as you approach them, you realize each one is about five times larger than your boat.
Winston the butler from Tomb Raider 2 & 3:
This fucker right here always creeped the hell out of me as a child.

Too bad at that time I was never aware that you could lock him in the freezer.
anything in clive barker's undying takes the cake. Particularly this.

The the missions Throttle and Captured of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare[sp] where you watch Knox vomit blood and bleed out of his gums and eyes and then you go to a prison camp that's a mix between Guantanamo Bay, Auschwitz and Jasenovac where Cormack gets shot in the leg and promptly bleeds out. You then escape through an area with bodies in vacuum-sealed body bags on meathooks and hop through a corpse chute into an incinerator.[/sp]
That's not how you do spoilers ^

Pretty much the whole game.
First time encountering bloodsucker in some creepy underground tunnel from S.T.A.L.K.E.R , I immediately pressed escape and did not touch the game for next two months

For anyone wondering who doesn't dare want to spoil shit for themselves like I just did as a sacrifice to save others, it's CoD: Advanced Warfare spoilers.
I managed to stop after some part about [sp]vomiting[/sp] so I should be good.
Well I fucked up with the spoiler tags, sorry everyone
I recently started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl for the first time. I was really anxious going through Lab X-18 for the first time. The background noises were really adding to the effect of that place. I also liked how it wasn't jammed packed with mutants/enemies.
Also encountering a Controller for the first time was pretty creepy/scary. As I was over my encumbrance limit and couldn't sprint for long. Was a bit of a panic trying to get out of the tunnel with it does that psy attack (where it pulls you in and throws you back)on me.
Postal 1.
The ending of Hotline Miami 2.
[sp]Everybody gets nuked.[/sp]
The entire PT demo, easily one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever had to play through and utterly terrifying. I went in expecting another Silent Hill which is well known for its all round creepiness but that demo is in a league of its own.
going underwater spooks the fuck out of me in games, especially if it's an unfamiliar one, the thought that absolutely anything could be in the water with you is absolutely terrifying, i've talked about this lots and i've always had a passionate dislike for the sea, in games it's always a last resort for me to enter water
the ichthyosaurs in half-life, the sharks in tomb raider, the fucking underwater zone in world of warcraft (and all the sea in general, some spooky shit in wow), that fucking atlantis: lost empire game for ps1, loads of games have fuckin creepy underwater scenes
I very rarely get scared in video games anymore, I can't seem to ever immerse myself enough because I know what I'm playing isn't real

First time playing Half Life the moment after the incident happens
Uh... that's really about it. I don't play horror games, they haven't got any appeal to me. I've heard people say Ravenholdm from HL2 gave them the creeps but honestly I thought that was very tame.

It has been said that we know more about the very depths of the galactic universe than we do our own deepest oceans.
