• boot from iso over network

I will keep it short. I have no dvd drive (i kinda swopped my sata for an ide with a friend before checking if i had an ide port, he didn't). I would like to boot from an ubuntu iso which is stored on another computer over a lan. I have an `ASUS M4N75TD` motherboard. This is kinda urgent. Help please!
http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ And a 1GB or larger USB drive. Use Unetbootin to write the contents of the ISO to the USB drive. Then boot the mobo off the USB drive. Except if it's a DVD ISO, then you'll need a USB drive that's atleast 4GB.
Just use unetbootin, if you have a flash drive with at least 700MB free. Unless your motherboard isn't capable of booting from USB.... EDIT: Damn, beat to it....
i suggest that, as it's ubuntu, you get a spare USB drive and put it on that. but if you really want to boot it over network, load up the BIOS settings and tell it to boot from the network location.
it can do that... but ive been examining the modded iso i have... its a 4.32gb file... but if i mount it in pc it only shows 152kb... im confused?

Honestly, booting anything over the network is a fucking pain in the ass if you haven't done it earlier.
Where are you getting your ISO? http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download
Slow response to slow punch
a friend gave me the iso after modding it for server/minecraft purposes...
You can still use unetbootin and put it on a flash drive. You just have to select the iso at the bottom part, as opposed to selecting a distro at the top.
If it's for a minecraft server, http://minecraft.codeemo.com/
