At first I thought this was a hardware problem, but both my logitech mouse and my laptop's built in touchpad are doing this now. Occasionally when left clicking, sometimes many times in a row, the computer will register it as a double click then hold down instead, which doesn't release until clicking again. This has made a few aspects of my computer almost unusable and extremely frustrating. I've tried disabling things in the windows mouse settings as well as setting the required double click speed to max, nothing seems to be helping.
Sounds like either lag or a problem with your mice.

It seems rather unlikely that both my mouse and my laptop touchpad would develop exactly the same issue at the exactly the same time. What do you mean by lag? It's not that I'm clicking twice far apart and it's registering them both at once, it's that I'm clicking once and it's occasionally registering it as two clicks simultaneously.
The SMD button that the bezel clicks on eventually wears out. It causes issues like multiple clicking, and since in a laptop, the track pad and the mouse buttons are usually on the same controller, they can interfere with each other.
You could look on Ebay for a replacement track pad/mouse buttons and see if that fixes the issue.
