Happy new year facepunch! Now that's out of the way, a friend of mine needs a new build as his motherboard just shat itself and died. He's in the UK with a budget of £1200. He has a monitor, Mouse, keyboard, 1200W PSU and a speaker system. He has an old XP disc, but wants to try Windows 7. Fire away facepunch! The build wil be mostly for gaming.
That's a good amount of money. Could get a nice i5/i7 (i5 if he isn't rendering and stuff and whats to save money) with a Radeon 5970 or something like that. Go with win7 instead of Vista

holy fuck a 5970.
Thanks mate, he was trying to get a prebuilt with 6GB RAM and an overclocked i7. It came to about £1450 or something.
Go with crypto's but i would go dual 5870 because you cant get dual 5970 so you might aswell ^^ and its cheaper
[QUOTE=cyclocius;19348489]Thanks mate, he was trying to get a prebuilt with 6GB RAM and an overclocked i7. Also, his computer won't use anymore than 4GBs or RAM. It's the perfect amount of RAM for gaming.
It is an i5, not i7?
