Windows Explorer crashes when I open my 'Movies' folder - lots of 720p .mkv files

Hi,

Whenever I open my movies folder, which has loads of HD films, mainly as .mkv files, windows explorer stops working. Why might this be?

My hard drive was full a few weeks ago so I bought an external hard drive onto which I put everything but when I open the folder on the external hard drive, Windows Explorer crashes.

Why is this happening?

Is it possible for you to change the view settings of the folder? Try changing it to "Detail" or "List" view.
