I need a x20k setting on my multimeter, but I only have 100, 10, and 1k. What can I do to get a reading as if I had a 20k setting?

I'm guessing you're trying to measure ohms.
If you put what you're trying to measure in parallel with a known smaller resistor you can measure that and calculate the value of the larger resistance.
