I just built a computer for my friend.
Motherboard: Asus Maximus II Formula
CPU: Q6600
RAM: Corsair DDR2-800 (CM2X2048-6400C5)
It has a little LCD poster thing..and it just hangs at DET DRAM, no matter what I do.
Right now it doesn't even have RAM in it and it still won't POST!
As far as I know, the mobo works fine (used it a month ago!), the RAM is fine (used in a computer two days ago..), and the power supply is fine.
I've tried resetting the CMOS, I've let it sit for an hour, it still doesn't do anything.
Help!
It'll need RAM in it.

No shit.
But I tried it with no RAM and it still hangs at "DET DRAM".
If I put in just one stick?
DET DRAM
Both?
DET DRAM
Could be some bad sticks. Could always try with some new ones.
Have you tried both slots cause I had to for some reason put mine in the second group of slots for it to boot up the first time then I could switch them back.
Try the white slots.
DET DRAM means "Detecting DRAM". So there's obviously a problem with your ASUS not liking your RAM.
If you can get into the BIOS, check if the voltage that goes to the RAM is the same as specified by the manufacturer of your RAM.
If that doesn't work, try a different pair of RAM sticks
I had this as well. Just move your RAM around. I couldn't run in dual channel because I'm guessing one of my slots was bad.
