Better idea, allow people to unplug and throwing the kinect bar in the closet, without that interfering with the consoles operation.
"Microsoft once again speaks in legalese and completely avoids giving any sort of a solid answer to questions"
"We are designing the new Kinect with simple, easy methods to customize privacy settings, provide clear notifications and meaningful privacy choices for how data will be used, stored and shared," Translation: A little pop up will say "WE ARE WATCHING YOU" Or just a massive screen filling set of eyes, the choice is all yours! ~love MS
Better idea, allow people to unplug and throwing the kinect bar in the closet, without that interfering with the consoles operation.
They want people to innovate with kinect and games which is why they included it. If developers don't know if kinect is attached there will be less of an incentive to do so.
Microsoft has more than 10 years of experience making privacy a top priority.
Yeah, every single windows password system being incredibly easy to work around is surely a top notch quality seal!

How is that not enough of an incentive for devs when bundling a headset with the X360 resulted in VOIP going widespread, even though the headset wasn't required by anything besides the actual VOIP function?
Even better. Don't include it. Keep it an accessory. Including it means I'm paying for something I would hate to use.
the kinect wouldn't work as an optional accessory because really, why would you pay for that??

I have a kinect and it's only being used by my sisters. Once every blue moon. You guys just look for everything little thing you can complain about even though they arn't normally that big of a deal.

Problem solved jeez. You guys just look for every big complain so you can complain about it and claim it isn't normally that big of a deal.

Of course, I don't think it'll be that way at release, but then again...
