Which is the better compact camera?

Im deciding between the

Sony Cybershot dsc-tx5

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10

the dmc has better zoom and better image quality, but the tx5 looks a hell of a lot better, is much thinner, and is water and shock proof. I'm looking for a general purpose camera that i can use for pretty much anything i need. If you have any of these cameras tell me what you think of it, if not, just give an opinion anyway, i'm not sure which one to choose.
