Im just curious. It was in a small little plastic packaging and it was out of it and I just put it back in the packaging. Will the processor still work?
Put it in and find out? as long as non of the pins are damage and any heavy scratches or the box was completely fuck it should work
Will I have to pay for shipping
Nope.
Will I have to pay for shipping
Depends entirely on the company. If they're half decent they'll pay for the packaging.
Depends entirely on the company. If they're half decent they'll pay for the packaging.
Its newegg. Also it seems that my mom just threw away the sticker that came with it. Will I need it? If so what should I do?
Tell your "mommy" not to touch your stuff. What "sicker" was it?
i'm guessing you mean sticker , could of been a tracking bar also i'd send it straight back as it being out of it's package it can get damaged easily , pins , scratches and static
Wait, if it was a recent CPU, like my Intel E7500, there are no actual pins on the CPU, they are on the motherboard from what I remember.
Where have you been the last 5 years? Seems to have started with P4's.
Probably using AMD.
They have processors without pins now? Yes newegg should replace it for free, and cover the shipping.
The Land Grid Array has been in use for a while now.
They have processors without pins now? Yes newegg should replace it for free, and cover the shipping.
It would make sense to have 'pinless' processors. When you put heat-conductive past on, and then add the heatsink, the CPU usually ends up totally glued to the thing.
try it see if it works it should [editline]02:26AM[/editline] I think you ordered the OEM verison so it is suppose to come like that, just swap the CPU's
No, the CPU should be in that little plastic housing, if it "felt out" due the shipment, it's not the fault of newegg. Never the less, a CPU is kinda damage resist, as long as none pins got broken it'll work.

It wont mess up my pc or anything? Also if I do get my cpu replaced could I install the pwoer supply and gfx card while I wait for the new cpu?

I've managed to kill two Athlon 7750 BEs (I think thats the right name) thanks to the fucking pins.
You should read the numbers on the processor and make sure some faggot in the shipping department didn't swap chips with you, giving you a shitty processor. Those boxes are damn-near bullet-proof fortresses, i don't believe the processor "fell out during shipping" for a second.

Also if it doesn't work end up working could I just install everything else and get it in later after I get it replaced?
You might have to take the mobo out again to install the new CPU, but yeah why not.
What do you mean?
I think he means when you want to put in the new cpu you might have to take out some of the parts you put in before
try it EOM cpu's come in a little plastic box not fan or anything it is just the CPu in a clear box. put it in the socket and see what happens I bet it will work
Poor idiot is confused. Look put in the Cpu don't ask how look it up yourself. It doesn't work well send it back in, newegg will pay for shipping and everything when you rma it. It will most likely work they are insanely strong and plastic+cardboard box won't fry it.
it has a manual op lo
