• Streaming from laptop to TV wireless?

Recently my father asked if it would be possible to stream the desktop of a laptop to a TV screen since 4 people staring on a 16" laptopscreen isn't that much of an ideal thing. The tricky part is, it isn't about really about movies or pictures, the purpose is to show the contents of a CAD program to customers. If it would be just some movie files I'd just put up a media server, but it has to be the whole desktop and on top of that wireless. By wireless I mean the Laptop should not have any cables attached, like an HDMI cable. It is possible to connect the TV to a lan cable (also the TV isn't bought yet, so no idea which one it is going to be). Laptop is connected to WiFi. Is there a simple way to connect the two wireless? Cheap solutions would be preferred.
Get a cheap PC to connect the TV to, then remote desktop to the other PC? Or I'd just connect it to HDMI port on the TV - but you say it has to be wireless. Just did some research and found this: http://hothardware.com/Reviews/WHDI-Kits-Explored-Asus-Wicast-briteView-HDelight/ (Wireless receiver / transmitter)
Thanks, however it seems both devices aren't really available anymore to purchase. Any other recommendations on receiver/transmitter setups?
Well just Google "HDMI Wireless receiver transmitter" Scan.co.uk http://www.scan.co.uk/products/edimax-full-hd-1080p-video-wireless-sender-hdmi-kit-receiver-transmitter-next-gen-pc-ps-3-mac-etc-sc Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Awireless%20hdmi%20transmitter They're not cheap - but if you REALLY can't use a cable, then this seems like a pretty good option.
heh miracast should do what you are looking for (also supported by android 4.2) http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=PTV3000-100NAS&d=Netgear-Push2TV-PTV3000-Wireless-Display-Adapter-(PTV3000)&utm_campaign=base&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=google_base

IS this over WiFi network or direct WiFi?
buy a mac and an apple tv and just use airplay
Because I'm sure he has the money for that...
Higher samsung, sony, panasonic and philips models support streaming. Goto electronics store and ask a clerc which ones.

iAgree with PvtCupcakes [editline]5th November 2012[/editline]
Woah this looks exactly what I want. IS this over WiFi network or direct WiFi?
pretty sure this would require a laptop with the technology integrated
don't settle for a scrub tier half measure. just go all the way.
No, did you even read my post? It is for CAD program, this program only works under windows os. is there a reason you need it to be wireless? seems like you could just get a wireless mouse and KB and control the laptop with it or use HDMI over ethernet [editline]6th November 2012[/editline] Actually, I remember one product that did this over wifi and worked with any computer, but I can't remember it. Saw a review of it once or something, but whenever I search all I see is WiDi, miracast, etc.
is there a reason you need it to be wireless? seems like you could just get a wireless mouse and KB and control the laptop with it or use HDMI over ethernet
The tv will be on a cupboard hidden in a wall. It is part of the showroom of my fathers working place. Wireless simply because no annoying cables you have to plug in all the time and run in danger of getting in the way of a customer or yourself. Also merely to make an impression, too. TBH: If it would simply require a usb stick or something it would okay, too.
No, did you even read my post? It is for CAD program, this program only works under windows os.
AutoCAD works on Macs. Of course there are other CAD programs, but just saying CAD program doesn't mean it won't work on a Mac.
