***Before you continue reading this thread you should know I barely have any experience in computer hardware.
- Games I focus on: Metro Last Light, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Mass Effect, ArmA 3 (still Alpha)
- I got $1500 (max)
- Can't reuse any hardware because I used to have a laptop
- Don't need any other stuff such as mousepads, keyboards, etc etc
- Currently live in Sweden
I've made my own list of hardware that in my perspective could be good, but I need your help to improve it.

Do you need i7?
Do you need i7?
That depends, something wrong with it?
It's ONLY useful for rendering / encoding. (Or just server)
[editline]11th May 2013[/editline]
So, unless you do those once in a while. You might as well go for 3570(K if you want overclocking)
[editline]11th May 2013[/editline]
Also regarding network card. Did you just order a seperate one? There's one intergrated FYI.
[editline]11th May 2013[/editline]
Also, if you're not overclocking, then just stick to the stock one. Maybe put some more money into GPU?
try to get a 670 or 680 or ati 7970 ghz edition

Build
CPU:Change the i7 out for an i5-3750k. Or even better, until June and get intels new i5-4670K
MOBO:Get a z75 or Z77 chipset mobo. Even if you dont plan on overclocking now, you might in the future.
Cooler: You can cool just as good for less cost with a hyper 212 cooler.
SSD: Get the PRO version.
NetworkWired network connections are build into the mobo. You dont need a seperate card.
OS: Why not windows 8? Its the same price and performs better.
I've found that trying convince OPs to get either 7 or 8 results in a shitstorm 100% of the time, it's always best to let the OP decide. Anything else results in nothing getting done. They're the same price and pretty much indistinguishable, other than 8 having an avoidable interface that some people dislike. I prefer 7. But just let the OP decide.

Ive found that people are usually very biased against W8 because they heard it was bad somewhere.
I just post to tell them that it isnt.
Fair enough.

I'll follow those specs if I can, will stay at W7. Not in the mood to start learning a new one (recently learned Linux).

Its windows. what is there to learn.
Anyways, your choice.
Just so the know, the scout can be pretty tricky to build with due to the top fan, do you specifically want a lan case?
