I thought the article title was talking about WoD
why are people still reporting on this every year or so some "journalist" finds out about it and writes the same article everyone else already has
To be fair I've never seen this and found the read quite interesting
why are people still reporting on this every year or so some "journalist" finds out about it and writes the same article everyone else already has
Because people love to look back on what they remember from the game, and this was a big unscripted event basically. How else would you react when you found out there's a deadly plague in the game you play all the time? It sounds awesome, but you avoid it because you don't want to die. It was awesome. I remember the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj and that whole event. Participating in it was awesome, and I'd love to see even today people's different takes on stuff like that.
You know, they tried this again a couple times with the Scourge infection. Before the original Naxx launch and again before the launch of Wrath, they deployed this event. People whine about it so much though they've refrained from doing something like it again. Before Legion though, we got the event that let players turn into dread lords, and I used every opportunity I got to be as disruptive as possible. I got about 50 kills once by transforming in the transmog hut in Orgrimmar.
With the whole Legion event I remember I was able to, once I got the whispers of course, disguise as another player. I disguised as a Dreadlord. I was huge. People freaked out, especially because they couldn't kill me.
I thought the article title was talking about WoD
I thought a story of Blizzard coping with disaster would have been about Cataclysm myself.
I wouldn't mind seeing a game wide open pvp event, Survival of the fittest sort of thing.
The blood plague was September 2005? Damn, I remember reading about that as it happened (as a non WoW player) and thinking how utterly fucking hilarious it was.

People got so confused or scared when I just walk into the room or stroll down the AH.
