After much testing and trials I can only assume that XFX uses memory chips that barely make the grade, underclocking my video memory by 100mhz and running the fan z 100% is the only way to guarantee some stability with this card.
my xfx 4890 has had 0 problems since buying it over a year ago and i use 50% fan speed
oh look, it's another "I had problems with a product from [brand] so all [product]s from [brand] are bad" thread
this is what the double lifetime warranty is for, use it
True. I have to run games at 90% fan unless they crash and have artifacts.
Doesn't XFX make great cards?!?! My GTS 250 idles at 63C! :downs:
Mines idle at 57-60c. Hi-End games are around 70c.
EVGA > XFX > Sapphire pretty much
Asus/MSI/Gigabyte are good too
Send it in? Doesn't XFX have a double lifetime warranty on its stuff?
I WOULD send it in, but my parents would give me the sob story and "herp derp what games do you play? Let me see it crash" I don't feel like playing l4d 1 for them for 40 minutes until it crashes in front of them. Then they won't even let me send it in.
then it's your problem not XFXs

I could have sworn this section used to have competent posters, not that you'd believe it seeing the state it's in now

So send it in yourself then. It's not like there's a "YOU MUST BE THIS TALL TO MAIL" sign at the post office.
XFX IS TRULY THE GAMERS CHOICE ..... NOT IT CRASHES WHEN YOU PLAY THE GODDAMN GAMES XFX SUCKS ASS AND TITS
suck my nads pussy
maybe I would, but I don't know what a nads is
My XFX card idles at 43c with fan at 60%. Running for a solid 2 years.
maybe I would, but I don't know what a nads is
Maybe he meant "Suck my dad's pussy."
:v:
My XFX HD 4890 idles at 45-50C or something and I use 33% fan speed and I never crash? :raise:
I had a 7600GT for 2 and a half year. The memory was almost dead, resulting in zombies heads stretching miles into the sky in L4D, and pretty colours appearing on my screen when browsing the web.
Still, I wouldn't say that XFX sucks more than any other graphic card producing company. :colbert:
My XFX runs quiet and cool even when over clocked. great card IMO
I tend to slag on XFX for their shit crap customer service, rather than their products per se, which in some cases are simply rebrands.
Much like ASUS, they put out a lot of volume so getting a crap product is like the lottery essentially. it's going to happen, but it may not happen to you.
The fun part is dealing with their completely incompetent and shady CRD, pretty much like ASUS.
asus has great support dunno what you're talking about
I tend to slag on XFX for their shit crap customer service,
No.
OP was Soviet Beef alt anyway. You can tell by the title.
asus has great support dunno what you're talking about
Again, I deal in bulk. After dealing with MSI, EVGA, Sapphire, Tyan, PowerColor, Geil, Corsair, Antec, PCP+C/OCZ and Gigabyte, ASUS is not "great", in fact ASUS is not even close to great, and XFX is even lower. Opinion is not based on single incidents, opinion is based on having to deal with CSR for several years over a wide range of products.
Why isn't this thread closed already?
The op is just another 12 year old troll
Off topic: is my XFX 5870 suppose to idle around 50-60 degrees?
I use to have problems with random crashing (my whole pc) but i just reapplied the thermal paste on it and it works fine now. It had shitty paste on it before.
Off topic: XFX or Sapphire?
off topic: Xfx or sapphire?
XFX easy.
