• UK ISP help (moving house)
    0 replies, posted
I hope this is in the right place, I'm currently living in Catford which is in London zone 3. I will be moving house in January and I am currently using BT Infinity, it is a very good service, doesn't seem to be any caps and torrents aren't throttled at peak times. Sadly where I will be moving, just down the road (still in Catford, Canadian Avenue to be specific) doesn't have BT Infinity. Virgin IS NOT an option either unfortunately (there terrable in this area, there always down etc) I use the internet for work, mainly uploading around 50 - 100 gigabytes of data a month (psd's (some reaching 3 - 4GB each), max files, megatexture render outputs and the like), I download this amount of data as well, besides work I use it for general use, twitch gaming and Starcraft 2. very occasionally i'll download a movie or watch iPlayer HD. This connection will be shared between 2 others, 1 does music and video editing so will also be uploading and download large amounts of data. Now I have had a look on Google but hasn't really been much help, the fastest ISP i can find has a meesley 1 and a half MB upload speed, which is not acceptable. I've heard 4G runs at acceptable speeds but I've failed to find any uk based 4G providers, and the only other isp's i can find are all consumer asymmetric isp's and had bollux upload speeds, and often terrible download speeds and strict caps/restrictions of some sort. Facepunch I ask you to help me find a decent isp, with at least 10mb up, i'm not to bothered about the download speed but nothing below 15mb please [editline]29th December 2011[/editline] bump! can no one answer this?
