I have this laptop for light, web based schoolwork but I've been looking for some games to put on it to play in the bed. Specs:

I know it's not great, but keep in mind, light, web based schoolwork. I just want some light stuff I can play from the bed.
Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, Tales of Maj'Eyal, Liberal Crime Squad, probably runs Dungeon Keeper or Theme Hospital.
Battleblock Theatre
Super Meat Boy
Castle Crashers
N game
Terraria
Any 16-bit and older console emulator (NES, Genesis, GBA, etc)
Europa Universalis IV.
Crusader Kings 2.
Civilization V.
PAPERS PLEASE MY NIGGA
Cave Story
Spelunky

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
FTL: Faster Than Light.
Shovel Knight's good.
Recettear, don't dismiss just because it's jap
You might can play TF2 on low settings.
Any pixel games listed above is nice
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth runs at a smooth 60 FPS; even on the crappiest of laptops.
Dues Ex
Thief 2
System Shock 2
Jagged Alliance 2
AoE2
Just go look on gog.
The Magicka games both have extremely low system requirements and Wizard Wars is fun as hell on its own.
Otherwise just old stuff: CS:S, Hitman and and of course indie stuff like Briad, Bastian and Super Meatboy.
Quake Live.
Srsly it's free and its awesome.
Fallout 2
Baldur's gate, kotor 1 maybe
Fallout 1 and 2.
Farmville
On every laptop there is one game I always install for flights
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
I fly like 6/7 times a year and on each flight I go back into my "ryanair themepark" and work on it for the 4 hour flight, the park is now basically full of "mr bones wild ride"...
I was able to run Sims 3 on low on my shitty laptop, and it had worse specs.
Mind you it cooked that damn thing and killed the battery.
Dwarf Fortress or, if I can repeat what matty929 said, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. The latter is amazing when you install the RCT1 mission package, easily the most fun I've had playing video games by myself.
I know its a bit hard to believe but I have an Aspire 7735z (Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family) and for the last 5 years i've played
3000+ hours of TF2
500+ hours of Gmod
100+ hours of Dungeon defenders, Fallout 3/NV, Oblivion, skyrim, Payday 2
not to mention lvled to 80 in GW2.
Good thing about PC gaming is, you can make ANY GAME look like its from 1990.
Once you can get used to 10 frames per second, anything is possible :v:
anything pre-2007
Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Also MGS1, if you get the high-res patches for it.
Audiosurf
Space Station 13 (on BYOND) and Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead.
I carry them around on my USB stick incase i get bored.
