• Computer suddenly not detecting any internal HDD. SSD and USB working. Am I fucked?

So I was installing Metro Last Light on Steam when I got a disk write error. Had a look and one of my 1TB HDD drives vanished from My Computer. I tried to install the game to a different drive and that drive vanished also. My SSD is still working and I am able to still use the computer I guess. I suspect that the motherboard may be faulty or the mobo or PSU somehow killed both drives. Event Viewer logs: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1. I'm pretty desperate since I have 4 university assignments due this week.
well the harddrives can't have possibly died since you can still use the computer I know its old, but have you tried rebooting? a similar problem happened to me yesterday, however it was not the HDD which disappeard. a reboot fixed it
I have tried rebooting multiple times. My SSD (OS drive) is still functioning and that is what I am using to boot and access the internet. I tried swapping the SATA cable from the SSD with the HDD to see if it would detect in BIOS but it would not show up [editline]15th May 2013[/editline] HOLY FUCK I GOT IT WORKING AGAIN I unplugged all the HDDs from my computer and individual tested them on my brother's computer. One read perfectly and the other didn't at all. Looks like my Seagate finally died and it tried to take everyone with it.
