I would imagine being less shit recently also helped.
Not too surprising; despite their legitimate faults, EA still manages to publish/develop a STAGGERING number of games ranging from good to great in quality. Titanfall and FIFA 14 World Cup certainly doesn't hurt. Introducing the "Great Game Guarantee" was a damn good idea as well.

Also the Humble Origin Bundle and their version of free weekends (that works better IMO)
Can't wait until they milk the shit out of Titanfall

They already did.

too bad they slice them up with DLC.
If you guys really dislike EA so much then vote with your dollar, just don't buy their shit until they change their ways.

If the entire population of FP stopped buying their products it wouldn't be near enough a dent to EA, and there is not much you can do when they have absorbed great companies you want to have a brighter future than EA.
It's never as simple as that as I see it, and EA will definitely, but slowly improve, and hopefully in the mean time split off some of our once beloved companies for their independence.

To many people who don't give a shit buy there products... So yeah, that's not going to work any time soon.
It's unfortunate that with such wealthy they can't be nice honest guys either.
If after a fuck up you come up and say "oh man we are so dumb sorry guys", you'll scare your much needed investors and discourage further sales of your product.
So they basically make shitty excuse that of course will not work for everyone, but will mitigate some of the damage your mistakes will cost you.

There's a lot of us who don't. The only Battlefield game I've purchased was 2042 for $1 on Amazon. I only have like 15 games on Origin because of free game promos and generous Humble Bundle gifting people.
You know what's funny? It comes out that EA is making 51% more earnings, and then they announce they're delaying their two biggest titles coming out, which they never do.
Proof that they really do put money before quality

They delay their games to improve them to get more money? Evil evil EA shame on you!

No. They never delay games because they rather hit their quarterly expectations, quality takes a back seat. Now that they've exceeded them, suddenly they delay two of their biggest upcoming games to ensure better quality for once in their lives
