• Having to press space afther placing a quote

When typing text i have to press a space after "placing" a quote (or `^') for it to appear. In the past i used to solve this problem by changing my keyboard layout to a different US one. But for some reason it doesn't seem to help now. same here, bumb
It's always been like this for me, just never thought it was a problem. I don't think it's a problem, or is it?
Its a feature it allows you to type things like é á ect easy.
sigh... i know but i use ascii (alt+numpad ascii code) for that... easy to remember and always works.
Go to your keyboard/language options and change your setting to just 'US', what you have it on now is United States international. This may differ a bit if you're not on Win 7, I set it back to this just now because this thread made me miss being able to type éáú easily.
US us-interational. All din't worked. Until i tried Australia and that worked fine.
US us-interational. All din't worked. Until i tried Australia and that worked fine.
Did you set it as your default configuration? If Australia has the same keyboard layout this will be fine, I just forgot to mention the rest: On the top part of the Text Services and Input Languages screen set US/Australia as the default and remove the other layouts in the bottom. Otherwise you might have to keep switching configurations with ctrl+shift, or you might accidentally do so.
That's not a bug. It's so you can type ê, ñ etc.
