Prototype 2 just loads. Constantly.

Got prototype 2 xbox 360 the other day, second hand but otherwise fine. Load it up and play for a while, then halfway through one of the cut scenes that play when you eat someone it crashes and says unreadable. The disk was grubby so I cleaned it off and tried again. Now it boots up, starts loading the game...and loads...and loads...

I've tried starting a new game, erasing all trace of the game from the hard drive and starting again, but nothing. Any ideas?

Edit:

I should add that the the first few minutes, up to where you escape the test place, work fine. There's a cutscene where you're told to put some fuckin' clothes on, then it just starts loading for ages and ages.
