• Need a good Verizon phone

Okay, here is the deal: I have an iPhone, and I love it. It's the best phone I've ever had, hands down. But because of a certain circumstance, I need to switch to Verizon. I won't be using a data plan anymore, only doing texting. I am hesistant to go to the Verizon store and ask their opinion since phone company stores run off commission. So I will be only texting and calling with it mostly. Anyone know of a good solid texting phone? Easy to use... it's gonna suck no matter what, I'd prefer no touch screen because after using an iPhone, any other touch screen will just piss me off. Thanks!
EnV?
Get a RAZR2 off eBay. The current phones aren't that great, and the RAZR2 is amazing. Since you won't have a data plan, you won't need the piled on bullshit on the enV touch or other phones. The RAZR2 has fantastic call quality, its wide but extremely thin, and there is no lag in the UI whatsoever. The buttons are easy to text with, as well. And since you buy it off eBay, you don't help those bastards at the Verizon stores that bug you every other minute on how the enV touch and Blackberry Tour are the best things since Jesus.
I was looking at the EnV but my ex girlfriend had one so I have a bad taste with it. :downs: Haha. Actually I don't like how thick it is. Is the new one thinner? And if I get the phone off Ebay, how do I get it to work with a contract? My friend had a RAZR and the buttons wore out over time, with a lot of texting. I liked the form factor though.
The new alias is pretty cool, it has a e-paper keypad that changes based on which way you open it. It flips one way for regular phone stuff, and the other way for full keyboard stuff.
Before I had the iPhone I had the Alias, the first one. It worked but the tiny buttons drove me nuts
1. unlock your eye phone 2. get a sim card from verizon 3. pop that bitch in edit: ah dam you're fucked then, conforming to one standard is for the plebians. sell it and get the cheapest phone that doesn't look like it's going to break easily.
Verizon doesn't use SIM cards I believe...
Verizon also is a CDMA network, not a GSM network like AT&T
I just got the Samsung Alias 2, gotta say I'm loving it. My biggest issue with the env2 was the fact that it does not have a 4-way directional pad on the front of the phone, making it impossible to scroll the cursor back if trying to send a text, and editing a word. As for the env3 they made vast improvements to the directional pad on the front of the phone, and to the qwerty keyboard. The enV2 and the enV3 randomly calls the first person on the contact list because the way the numbers are on the outside, but it can be locked with a code if needed, or by pressing the ok key twice. Plus in order to answer a phone call on the enV3 you need to hit the ok key twice, then send.

Also, the RAZR2 is totally different than the RAZR, don't even try to compare them.
I like the idea of the RAZR2, but are the really $200 on Ebay? That sound's a little too costly. Won't Verizon offer it cheaper when I open a contract with them?

I need a good new phone too, from verizon.

Now i want the RAZR2... does Verizon not offer it?

I don't recommend it though, it's pretty and small but it is really fucking slow.
I have a new LG Versa. Its a great phone other than it freezing up when plugging it up to your computer with a third party 8gb memory card. Its to be expected though. Only problem is its crazy expensive, but there's a rebate (40 bucks i think).
Get the LG enV Touch, it's the VX11000. I just got it. It is absolutely amazing, worth every penny, and the plan is too. Get it, it's perfect in almost all ways.
If I were you I would Wait till the end of the month when all the new phones are released, Like the Chocolate, Which I plan on getting.
I need the phone in the next week :( Can't wait any longer. And touch screen is out of the question like I said, it's just a pain once you're used to the iPhone multitouch.

I was able to get mine for $60 after sniping an auction that ended in the middle of the night. Also, Verizon doesn't sell the RAZR2 anymore because they want to make room for their shitty touch screen phones and Blackberrys. Get the samsung omnia...
dont get a cellphone i am much happier after i put mine in the washing machine on accident i havent had one for like 7 months now its great nobody is nagging me anymore
What phones can you register exactly? Do they need to be supported directly by Verizon?
If the phone uses Verizon, you can register it. Maybe some extremely old phones won't work, but if it has the Verizon logo on it you are safe.
I have an enV2, no complaints.
Why can't you silly American's just use one standard like us Europeans, exactly?
