• How could I make my voice sound like it's coming through a walkie talkie/radio in game?

If the title isn't clear enough, what I'm trying to do (to add a little more role play for when I'm playing Face of Mankind) is make it sound like I'm talking to a soldier's headset/radio/walkie talkie thing. I'm not sure what programs or methods I should use to do this. I know of a method through Audacity, and it's the perfect effect, but I need a real-time sort of solution. Anyone have an idea?
Yeah, this sounds cool, always wanted to do this just to mess with people playing online.
I guess you could download a voice changer and play with the distortion. Or see if you can find a pre-made setting.
I can't find a proper voice changer that isn't worth $99.95.
I remember a machinima tutorial out there, he recommended turning down the frequency of the .wav file or whatever you're exporting as.

Buy a set of walkie talkies, put one up against your mic, and talk into the other.
I'll use that as my last resort. After all, there's nothing better than the real thing!
My only suggestion is get a crappy mic.

I see what you did there.
I doubt anyone in the MotB or FDC or whatever ventrilo will want to hear your voice like that. Trust me.
I just want it for poops and giggles. I'll stop if it's annoying everyone. On another note, I've got a program, but how would I allow the altered voice to be the voice sent through the mic, not my normal voice.
It would help to tell us what the program is....
Ah, never mind. After fiddling for a bit I've managed to do it. It's pretty funky, except I keep getting massive echoes. Thanks for the help anyway!
We all wanna do it too tell us!
I do this with a guitar Multipad or my pc. I have a Line 6 Toneport gx for which costs 30$ and it allows me to plug my guitar into my pc and it comes with software that has alot of options to modify the input (including voice)
