24v adaptor on a 12v monitor?

So basically today I brought a old monitor that dose not have any power leads. After looking at the back I deduced that it needs a 12v adaptor lead.

After hunting high and low for a couple of hours I could only find one adaptor that would actually fit the monitor, but that adaptor its 24v.

My question is would it do any damage to the monitor if I used the 24v adaptor on the monitor?

Oh well...decided to buy a 12v adaptor off Amazon, making this thread useless.

Can a mod close this please.
