What do you think about google changing from Google docs to google drive? Myself, i only see it as a opportunity I use dropbox, but i guess that it will be easier to share files over Drive because you got all your google contacts there There are no info about how much you will be able to store on their servers yet though :/ go to drive.google.com for more info
I'm too deeply entrenched in Dropbox to consider switching at this point. I have 11 GB there and all of my symlinks are already set up there. I might stick a TrueCrypt container on there and use it as yet another backup for my more important files, though. [editline]25th April 2012[/editline] One can never have enough secure backups.
There are no info about how much you will be able to store on their servers yet though :/
https://www.google.com/settings/storage/ 5 GB for free, 25 GB (exactly or plus the 5?) for $2.49/mo, 100 GB for $4.99/mo.
I've already moved just about everything from my Dropbox folder to my Google Drive, the Docs integration pretty much seals the deal, since I'm between two houses and university, all with different computers The only thing I might keep my Dropbox around for is the automatic camera uploads, it's pretty convenient to just have all the photos I take with my phone automatically on my desktop
I've tried this yesterday and I will definitely stay with Dropbox. The public folder on Dropbox is very useful, they also added folder sharing recently. I already have 15gb on Dropbox from all of the invites so there is absolutely no reason to switch (besides Docs, but that is easily replaceable).
Seems pretty cool, and I am totally sold for Google docs integration, but it's seems quite rushed and unpolished The fact that I got free 20gb on drop box (it just jumped from 12 to 22 for some reason) doesn't help
Google rush a lot of things to start with, and some projects don't even make it (Google Wave), even Android was pretty basic at the start
Also my upload is stuck on 1/2495 files for 12 hours now
Also my upload is stuck on 1/2495 files for 12 hours now
i had same issue. Exit google drive, restart your computer, then open google drive again. It will hopefully sync Besides that issues, i really like Google drive, integrates better than dropbox with my phone and tablet. Also uploads and downloads seem to be allot faster than dropbox. They just need to add a public or copy public link option and i will uninstall dropbox and completely move to Drive
Doesn't support SOCKS proxy, so it's quite useless to me.

Call me silly but I have both lol more storage for me anyways.
I've got 10.8 Gigs on Dropbox from referrals and I love Dropbox so I have NO reason to switch to Drive. I use Google Music for my Music and I use Evernote for any document related stuff. If I cant think of something to use Drive for, maybe I'll start using it [editline]ef[/editline] I think I'll use Drive for my Personal and School stuff and keep Dropbox for my development stuff and backups

I wouldn't be able to fit it all on Drive though :( My MMO project alone is 3GB and I have a few other projects Dropbox also keeps old revisions too but I'm not sure how many
I had started to use MediaFire for storing school stuff but I switched over to this. I never got around to using Dropbox so I don't know if it's better than Drive or not. I'll be getting an Android phone later this summer and if I could back everything up from my phone to Drive, that would be amazing.

Also some corporate networks literally require all traffic to go through a SOCKS5 proxy for safety and management reasons.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm using the hell out of Drive. I never got into dropbox. But I can use google drive so easily. I love it! I have it on my phone so I can look for phone wallpapers or songs to put on my phone and throw them in my drive and pick them up on my phone. Plus I can just choose from 5gb drive plus my SD card. I don't have that much media besides apps on my SD card now.
google drive is a neato idea but Skydrive had a promotional thing where you could claim 25gb of storage for free. I'm only going to need Drive for Docs really, I prefer skydrive imo but hey I like competition.
If google integrates Google Music with drive (at least in the same way as gdocs does), I am sold
I have two 50GB accounts for Box. I don't think I'm going anywhere anytime soon. However, I still use Dropbox for sharing small files quickly.
