I'm going to get my new computer on finance but I need some advice on a few pieces, I'm fairly confident about what's good and what's bad but it doesn't hurt to have advice when spending money.
Here's what I have and don't need: CM 690 II, some 650w Coolermaster PSU, XFX 6870.
What I need: Motherboard, RAM, Processor and CPU cooler.
What I've been looking at: Asus Sabertooth p67 i5 2500k Corshair xms3 DDR3 8gb and I have no clue what kind of cooler would be best for moderate overclocking.
If anyone has any suggestions I would definitely appreciate it, thankyou.

And you might want a cheaper mobo, maybe one that supports Crossfire and you could get another 6870
I suggest the P67A-G53.

Oh and you probably only need 4GB RAM
The Sabertooth doesn't support Crossfire? Thought it did.
when are you ordering, if it's today or this weekend there's some decent offers on the Today Only page
are you sure you need 8GB RAM
[editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
yes the sabertooth supports crossfire but you don't really need to spend that much on the mobo, a P67A-G45 or something will most likely fit your needs fine
[editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
plus the sabertooth has that dumb plastic over it which bumps up the price and should just be removed anyway
Today on finance yes, gotta love finance options.
And about the RAM, I'm also on the fence about 8gb, I just see a lot of slowdown in my current computer with 4gb but I think that's more to do with my Dual core... what do you think? If you think I should stick with 4gb could you link me a suitable one with good timings etc? Thankyou.
well what are you going to be doing, if it's just gaming and general use you don't need more than 4GB
Games, general use mostly.

Final checkout, looks good?
for the mobo if you want expandability through sli/crossfire you want 8x/8x PCI-E slots and the GA-P67A-UD3 has 16x/4x, you could get either the 2500k+GA-P67A-UD4 combo or just get a 2500k and a P67A-G45
along with http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-(2x2gb)-corsair-xms3-classic-ddr3-pc3-12800-(1600)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-9-9-24-15v and http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coolermaster-hyper-212-plus-4-heat-pipes-with-120mm-quiet-fan-lga775-1155-1156-1366-am2-am2plus-am3
for the HDD get http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-samsung-hd103sj-spinpoint-f3-sata-3gb-s-7200rpm-32mb-cache-89ms-ncq, faster and more reliable
[editline]28th May 2011[/editline]
actually for the RAM get "4GB (2x2GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, XMP, 1.50V" from Today Only

What about that?
Thinking about removing the Sabertooth and getting one for £100, I just love the look of the saber, but I'm going for a blue look so it might be wasted..
do this:
for the HDD get http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-samsung-hd103sj-spinpoint-f3-sata-3gb-s-7200rpm-32mb-cache-89ms-ncq, faster and more reliable
also why do you need these fans and leds doesnt the CM690 II already have sufficient fans

I swapped out the 1TB for that one, same price though as they were in £2 of each over.
And the 690 II comes with two fans installed, I'm getting the four black ones for the Hyper 212+ and two for the bottom of the case, the two white ones are for the top of the case.
And the LED's I thought I might aswell make it look a little ricery for £8, it matches the colour scheme of the case too and has a sensitivity dial, although the 690 doesn't have a side window so it's sort of wasted... still want it though.
Also blue lights make it cooler, red is faster, but I don't need it any faster.

New one, I'll order it when I wake up if noone can see any problems/potential advantageous replacements, I was sort of hoping to fit a power supply in and keep the £800 budget though.
