I'm hoping that they have an open beta for the PS3 version, I'm really don't want to spend a stupid amount of money on a rig good enough to play this game. Does anyone have any news on the PS3 beta dates, and whether it's going to be open/closed?

The ftp business model is the last thing this game needs, especially since half the player base basically said they'd stop playing if the game went ftp for good.

Problem is it still has to generate revenue when it's FTP, so that means if it did go that route they'd have to find another way to make money off of it, which would likely involve microtransactions which is something no one in the community really wants.
Also, if you're a Legacy member like myself you get a subscription fee discount which drops the price down to $9 per month.
