Actually, the same can be said for playing as tank in almost any mmo. The only exception I can think of is Ragnarok Online, but that is due to a majority of boss monsters having full screen atracks that you really can't tank.

I dunno, in the various MMOs I've played I've seen a lot more tanks copping shit and getting disrespected than healers.
Sometimes to a ridiculous degree, like in Neverwinter when DPS classes keep spamming their knockback abilities on bosses, breaking the tank's aggro by shoving the boss outside their range, then blaming the tank for not keeping aggro. And if you politely ask them to use attacks that don't have knockback? "Lol get good garbage tank, I'm carrying this party (even though I'm doing the worst of all the DPSes)"

Nah, this one definitely goes to the tanks. There's just way too much pressure on them having to lead the entire party and not screwing anything up. It's one of the reasons why I never tried tanking in MMOs.

Tanks have to lead the party, which is a lot of responsibility, and causes people to get mad at them even when things aren't their fault. I've seen so many competent tanks kicked from LFR after wipes that were clearly not their fault.
Personally I always found healers to be the easiest because their performance is so binary. Either you are doing fine and everyone is alive or you are doing poorly and everyone is dead. I think there is more pressure on DPS to optimize their gameplay

I find healing to be a bit stressful especially on heavy aoe fights whereas with DPS I just have to adhere to a rotation
I agree it's easier than people think but that still doesn't stop tanks from copping abuse for stuff beyond their control or some tanks acting like everyone else is inferior to them.
Having played tanks and healers a lot, both are stressful.
If people die due to aggro and you're the tank, it's your fault for not keeping the aggro. If people die due to anything and you're the healer, it's your fault for not saving them.
I will say I've gotten a lot more abuse as a healer though when tanks pull 20 enemies without telling you and instantly die, raging at you like an idiot.
I have a love-hate relationship with tanking.
On one hand, I'm usually damn good at what I do. On the other, I really don't like having to depend on other players to not be retarded. If you run headlong into a group of mondo-head-crusher50,000's, there isn't shit I can do for you.

And if you bitch and moan at me, I won't pull the agro off of you and watch you die.
