Well, I just need a CPU cooler that kicks ass, at times my i7 920 gets as hot as 68 degrees C :(

(And I'm a lazy fucker so I actually got this computer prebuilt, and I cant be assed to change case obviously.)

Tcase for core i7 is 67.9C, so when the center of the IHS reaches 87.C (Roughly Core temps of 97-100C), then it is possible withtake permanent silicone damage.

if you're getting 80C LinX load with a TJ Max of 100, using the idea that the therm. spec. for the Core i7 920 D0 is 67.9C and the 20C rule, running up to 87.9C is about the absolute max you would want to see. This can be better shown as Distance to TJ Max 12. If you take on the added effect of the 10C difference between cores and the center of the IHS, you could run it up to 97.9C (Dist to TJ Max 2.1) before you are doing permanent damage.
