My modem has a router built into it (2wire). It's interface is very bad and locked down. I want to plug in my old linksys router that has ddwrt on it into to it and use that as the wireless access point and when I type in the gateway ip into my computer, i want to be able to reach it. How would i configured both routers so this will work and how would i have to set up my computer network cables.
Have the shitty router assign DHCP on the 192 block, and have your good router assign DHCP on the 10 block. Simply plug the good router into one of the ports on your shitty router, plug your computer into the good router, and you have instant access to both networks.
