to bad the game is ruined due to the fact you can buy overpowered weapons using real money.

Now? It's always been fucking terrible.
Now? It's always been fucking terrible.
i was thinking of the days of the closed beta
when the only way to actually have any fun was to blow up everyone with dump trucks
good times
The blog this was posted from looks utterly terrible.
Anyway the game really isn't that bad, at least not for a F2P game. Yes, the weapons are unbalanced, yes, the missions are often a bit unbalanced too, but if you're good at objective-based shooters with teamplay, you'll do just fine here. And like all games, good or bad, it's fun with friends (recommend you have a separate VOIP so you can talk to them without being heard by the other team).
The customization is pretty much the best in any game but you won't really be looking at much unless your OS is 64bit, because the game thinks it appropriate to reduce your textures to all lows no matter what your rig is like outside of being 32bit.
Pay-2-Win guns are going to kick your ass until you learn each of their weaknesses and probably will after that too. Contrary to popular belief, they are not modded to be superguns automatically. The majority are actually just guns you could have already if you got mods for it (which aren't pay-2-win) but with a gimmick feature applied (for example, the Whisper is just an OCA with two mods and a silencer).
If nothing else, this game is a fun timewaster. It's not very large on your hard drive, it's generally very easy to pick up because of how shallow it is, and it's not much to master. I don't play it as much as I used to but now and then I hop on and I find some fun in it. Mostly because I'm just really good at shooters and I spank the crap out of everybody, mostly because I've mastered the driving and enjoy jumping off the many ramps or stunting around in general. Griefing is also pretty funny. I like making road blocks with three or four lines of cars blocking an entire roadway, waiting till someone comes zooming in, and then blow up the whole thing as they get there. So many pubbie tears fall due to this.

Also dumptrucks are still viable for griefing. They haven't been nerfed once.

Excellent
Gameplay is still an unbalanced shitshow but the customization still keeps it at least a little fun.
See, here's the thing. i'm going to be blatantly honest to everyone here and tell you about this game.
I hate this game. I hate it so much. But for some reason, it has the addiction factor of something close to Cocaine. But don't get me wrong, it has its moments. In total, I've spent about 120 dollars on it, and I have accumulated more than 500 hours in RTW and G1 APB.
Since this game was brought back for the public in OB, i'm telling you right now that the shit that probobly made you quit in the first place has been fixed. There are no "Pay-to-Win" Guns. Like the poster said above me, each gun comes with a perk and you have to learn and take advantage of its weakness, just like with any other gun.
I say this with confidence, because I've tested this out myself. I went an hour using the whisper and Colby CSG - then went to the stock OCA and JG. There was obviously a difference, but the hindrance to play the game and really use your skill was low. When you get down to it, you just need to fucking aim and stop bitching about the game. They've done allot of things to help improve the gun-play, and are continuing to do so as well. All the guns have been balanced, the missions have been balanced, and an extremely large amount of hackers and game exploiters have been removed from the game.
If you want to really know what it's like the play the game, then play it. Alot of people bitch and moan about it because they jumped in, got killed for a couple hours, didn't bother to progress and get the game finished, and just quit. And who knows, you might really enjoy it.

If you have any serious questions and want to try out the game, just ask about some stuff...i'll be honest and try to be as least fan-boy as possible
The game isn't really that bad tbh. There some things about it I absolutely hate though like Pay to Win items and Hackers and how repetitive it is.
This game is actually fantastic fun; is it balanced? No. Is it fair? No. Is it biased? Yes.
The game is loaded with bugs, glitches, hackers, idiots, and generally horrible players, but if you get a group of you and your friends together you are guaranteed to have a great night of fun.
I must admit though, the game is hilarious if you're good at it. Essentially the rule of thumb for most players it seems is: "If you killed me; you MUST be hacking". They won't hesitate to let you know that in the chat for the remainder of their time playing. Hilarious to watch them squirm.
anyone want to play with me once the game downloads, crim?
I've sworn off this game, it's "Pay to Win" which makes it pointless to play for me.

It's actually not pay to win all that much, at least not compared to most other "free2play" games. Yeah, some of the guns you can buy for real money are a bit overpowered, but only a few even then, you can get a gun that will be pretty much as good (if not better) than the paid ones. You can play this without paying a single cent and still be able to beat people who are using paid weapons.

is oca whisper still op as fuck
Yes it is. Also that Scoped N-Tec if you know how to use it.
It looks fun. I'm going to play it
Not played this in a while, the ease of accessibility tempts me to try it again.
I don't remember it being pay to win, I won quite a few missions with a basic pistol.
50% reduced cooldown on activated abilities
True pay to win
True pay to win
yeah you can open your ammo box to resupply ammo/switch weapons every 2½ minutes instead of 5
my god pay to win right here guys
APB is not nearly as bad as people say it is.
Its a fantastic idea, but rather poorly done. I mean, it could have been better, but its still fun.
The only unfair aspect about this game is the Armas Marketplace. Their weapons are incredibly overpowered and easy to use. Hell, I remember a promotion went out for scoped N-TEC's and I dominated people with just 3 or so shots. The premium service itself just increases cash payout at the end of missions along with standing on contacts (which unlock weapons/clothing items). The hackers in this game aren't rampant but they are there and incredibly annoying.
But nothing really compares to the game-play: it's repetitive. You either win a lot or you do a lot or you get caught in-between either. The only good thing about this game is the level of customization it holds for just about anything you can customize. APB is just generally unimpressive aside from that.
One of the best F2P games out there, only ruined by the usual "pay2win" system

the only really pay2win gun is the Colby CSG but nobody ever bothers using it

The Armas weapons aren't overpowered at all compared to regular weapons. The Armas weapons are the exact same, sometimes it even worse than the weapons that you can get later on in the game itself. They're not any more overpowered than the regular guns are, you can just get the armas stuff quicker.
I went for so long in the beta with the stock weapons because i had suuuuuuuuch a hard time ranking up, and when I finally got to level 5 I think it was (highest level I got to) I was able to buy an N-TEC but I had no money.
Then some ~lovely~ facepuncher game me one he wasn't using, and wouldn't you know it, a day after I got it, it was nerfed.
Keyboard repairs were in order.
(this isn't related to anything I'm just telling a story)

The N-TEC hasn't been nerfed even once since RTW times.
