So? Overflows have the events too you know. That is the point of overflows.
There were literally NO issues at all during the one time halloween event. People got room in the overflows and things went smoothly. Not in the same overflow as your friends? Party up and the game fixes that for you.
if its like other mmos, then one time event means it happens multiple times over the course of a week or two.
Sucks for people who cant be at the event if they miss this one time event.

Nope, when ArenaNet say one time, they really do mean one time event. The Halloween event was like that, but it was instanced at least so you could do it with friends. And the whole point is to have the world be as alive as possible. The world changes, with or without you and that is great if you ask me. It isn't just about the event, the event will result in new content to the game. So missing an event isn't that big of a deal.

the game is only as fun as you make it
yeah you need to kill ghosts and risen one hundred billion times to get good karma rewards in a short of time but you can also get that karma in smaller increments in different areas, and there's nothing stopping you from doing it besides your false need to get things instantly. If you do everything in your power to reach full completion on day 2 then you can't complain that you've run out of things to do
Granted it does have its flaws, and it is by no means a perfect game (my shining optimism tells me this'll all be fixed in future updates) but if your reasoning behind it being unfun is 'i'm doing the same shit in PvE because I chose to', completely overlooking the other 90% of the PvE map and the wonderful fun that is PvP and World V World, then you really aren't making that valid of a point.

I'm afraid I must have missed that part of Halloween despite I guess 100% every achievement available for Halloween. What was this 1 time event?

A charr ranger, and human guardian. Charr is pretty much geared up, same with the guardian.

The enemy has changed based on where you are located, so you aren't killing the same thing over and over again. What's your point?
I've spent around 350 hours so far and I only have one level 80, and still loads of content left. There are still loads of bosses I haven't killed. If you think there is nothing to do once you've completed story, you've either rushed it completely or are ignoring most the content there is.

It didn't rape my dog, but it's probably my biggest gaming regret in years.
It was pretty obviously not a legitimate question when most people already think the game is fun and it's the kind of question that always comes up when people feel like starting a shitstorm.
If it was a legitimate question then it was really stupid since, you know, nobody has played this event.

The Mad King shows up in Lions Arch and creates a portal under the LA statue that you jump into an then you get to fight him. It was quite fun to do but if you missed out it doesn't really matter.

I don't know what you are doing wrong because seriously I have been having a blast with GW2. I don't rush through the game, I just do everything I come across, whether it is a level recommended zone or lower level, I do it because it is fun.
It's like people complaining that eve is boring all over again. Give players too much freedom and they will complain about the game being boring. People want to be spoonfed content it seems. Instead of going out and explore.
