• Ive always wondered...

When you imagine something in you're mind, like a memory of an event, the "image" in you're mind seems kinda blurry-ish and unrealistic, because you're imagining it and not seeing it with you're eyes, so I've always wondered, when you dream do you see with that blurriness, or do you see perfectly as if looking with you're own eyes? Obviously, you cant tell until after the fact and then you can only REMEMBER the dream, and when you remember it, its fuzzy. So my question is, when you dream, do you see the events in you're dream clearly as if looking through you're eyes, or do you see it blurry like when remembering a thought. I've always thought it was blurry, but I dont know for sure if thats true, so I'll just ask you facepunch.
I'unno, personally I see dreams in the same way I see my thoughts i.e. not so much seeing as, well, feeling them, I suppose. Not sure how to describe it.
Like this "blurriness"?
My dreams are extremely detailed and, if I can remember them, remember the exact scenery down to the last detail. They aren't blurry at all in my case.
Sometimes I remember them and sometimes I dont.
1) YOUR eyes. 2) Clearly, sometimes even knowing that I am asleep.
I guess in future there will be technologies that will allow to capture mind pictures and sounds that you generate.
Seeing though a pair of eyes, not always what seems to be your own. You're either in the background or in control. You're only observing and interacting, you'll never understand the whole picture, you'll always misinterpret everything.
It's like a more realistic version of imagining something with your eyes closed.
They are usually very detailed, and varies between first and thirdperson.
In fact, sometimes I wake up and check things to make sure that I was just dreaming. My dreams have always been realistic. None of the superhero stuff, unfortunately. :sigh:
Oooh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up, facepunch.
I can see my dreams perfect, but they are always weird and I forget about them.

The reason you dream is because your subconscious goes through memories and "organizes" them, you see them because your conscious thought process (the one youre reading this with) isnt blocked out by actions or thoughts so your subconscious can feed them to your brain. Although it my seem like a scenario in your dreams may last days or hours, your human brain dreams in short bursts of about 20 seconds to a minute. But your night is filled with these and since your memory isnt being used for anything else, you can clearly remember things in order, other times you dont. No one really completely understands how and why the brain dreams but if you look at the Sleep and Dreams Megathread it explains some serious shit about dreaming.
You dream using your thoughts , feelings, and memories
