Looking at a friends computer for them, there is a rather big problem. Whenever you plug in a new USB device, the found new hardware wizard flashes on for a brief second then off again, and does that endlessly. This happens for anything USB and the device wont work. I can't even back up the system without gutting the harddrive now. Anyone know what could cause/fix this?
Sounds like a virus to me, run a MBAM scan
Can't get MBAM on.. No USB support and no internet connection, can't even install my USB WiFi.
Use one of those shiny disks or those old square black ones if you have that.
Plug it directly into the router with a cable
Router wasn't practical but Ive managed to bridge the connection from a laptop to the desktop. Running a full scan now. Thank's for all of the help so far :)
Check your USB drivers, I doubt its a virus
Jesus, 1 solitary piece of adware, removed and now the whole system is fine! Thanks for the suggestions guys!
That was probably more than a peice of adware (malware + adware combo?)
Either way its fixed now
