I always thought that being able to invade alien bases and them not being able to return the favor was something lacking. I have high hopes for this.

This has been specifically denied. You'll fight Exalt or X-rays, not both at once. I would imagine this is likely due to technical reasons.

They're Illuminati types that want to utilize alien tech to rule over the world, once the alien threat has been defeated.

They're different from the past alien sympathizers. They don't give a shit about the aliens, just their juicy technology and genes.
They are only coming after XCOM because XCOM is swooping in, kicking alien ass and taking all the tech for themselves.
Exalt just wants to use all the technology for power.

From what the developer has said, they aren't even thinking that big. They're fairly sure the aliens are gonna steamroll Earth, they just want to have power to rule over the scraps that are left.

I want to play as an exalt just to find out what drives them to this goal, why are they doing this and what's causing the conflicts between xcom and exalt. I want the full lore storyline as it just sound so juicy and rich indeed...
