Alright, I installed one of my old processors to my friends older PC. It was all working fine and his PC started to run faster. Than I told him "I can try to make it somewhat faster by overclocking it a bit". Well after changing some settings I went to restart his PC. Now, every time I turn on his PC his monitor never goes on. I haven't had this happen to me before. So, did I kill his one and only PC? I have some other computer parts at home, can I just use my other motherboard to fix this problem (only if I did destroy his PC).
how old is the processor & motherboard? most now have an auto-revert feature if the OC screws up.
Yeah, you probably took it too far and it didn't boot correctly, thus requiring you to reset the CMOS if you have an old motherboard.
Go into the mobo's manual and figure out how to reset the CMOS.
Yes, you can remove the battery on the motherboard for 30seconds which is that little round silver thing or you can get a screwdriver and touch the CMOS reset pins together
Or you can use the jumper that is attached to the CMOS pins. :downs:
shhhhush
