I don't expect Interplay to make a sequel at all unless they find someone to fund it. It's sad that Interplay struggles to stay around even after losing the fallout MMO license. Most of their income is from selling their old games.
Maybe they could team up with the open source team and get this game on steam. Other than that, I don't see much coming from them.
Also, The price of the IP alone tells you how dead the space genre has been. I'm talking before Star Citizen. Nobody wants to take a risk anymore and focuses more on shooters and the same old IP these days. It's sad because I fucking love space games.
Freespace 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, I really hope something comes of this and it lives up to the originals
Just $7500? I mean that kind of money could surely have been raised by the fanatical crew at hard-light.net.
Forget FreeSpace, Descent please!
