I like this news it might be them trying to hype up DOOM IV
I really hope that Doom 4 ignores modern shooters and goes back to the original Doom formula. If it has regenerating health, I'm not buying it.

According to Carmack they'll be throwing twice as much monsters at you, and according to Hooper the classic Doom fans will like it.

I'm not really sure why you're worried about that. Doom 3 was pretty good, it cut down on the run and gun a little and they added a bigger horror feel to it but it was still fun and classic FPS feeling

Why? It doesn't even have the coop mode the xbox version had, the only thing the pc version was missing... (Yes, I know about unofficial mods, doesn't count)
Doom 4 better have resampled 80s metal.
