I'm having a problem with the windows login unlike anything I have ever seen and I have no idea what to do.
I can see the Windows 7 blue screen (with white lines and flowers) and it takes around 2 minutes for the user login field to appear. This is not my computer, but my friend stated that the problem is there since he bought the PC. The specs are as following:
- i5 quad core
- 4gb of ram
- ATI 6490M
- Windows 7 64-bit
I tried everything, I checked the disk for errors, ran registry cleaner, turned off all programs at startup and the problem persists. The laptop is brand new, less than a month old and it was rarely used.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Open the command prompt and type "sfc /scannow" without quotation marks. It'll check for any corrupted windows files. Also do a virus scan just in case
Try defragmentation?
This was happening to me as well, even after formatting and re-installing the OS. Then my HDD died. After I bought a new one it hasn't happened since.
Also, this was on a laptop as well.
