I bought my mates old monitor today its a Samsung 205BW and I have set the resolution to 1680x1050 (That is what he had it running at) and the text seems to be blury. Is there anyway to get rid of this and make it clear?
I am only running a 7600Gt at the moment and I am getting my new card next week, but i doubt that it is the card.
Thanks
What is native res?

Take a screenshot.
If you're running Windows XP:
Right-Click Desktop -> Properties -> Appearance -> Click the 'Effects' button
Check the box that reads'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:'
Set the dropdown to ClearType
Hit 'OK'
Hit 'Apply'
Hit 'OK'
If you're not using XP, then I cant help you.
I am running Windows Vista home basic
How can i figure out the native res?
If it's connected to the PC via D-Sub, there should be an automatic configuration option somewhere in the monitor's settings.
The native res is 1680x1050 which is what i am running it at
It might say on the monitor box. I have a 1920*1080 monitor, that will only do 1680*1050 as an external display on my laptop, this caused some blurry text problems which were only solved by playing around with the monitor settings.

Is there anything similar i can try for Vista?
Try this instead:

It seems to have worked a bit but it is still a bit blury.
Thanks for the help. I will see how I go after I have upgraded my graphics card.
Put your glasses back on.
If your using a vga (the old blue one). It might just be because of that.
