My friend brought his computer to me complaining that it wont boot. When I turn it on it starts up and tells me there is no hard drive recognized. He already had 1 drive fail on him before. Everything is plugged in properly. The drive spools up, it just doesn't show up on the computer.
Specs
P4 3.4 ghz
Ram-?
OS- XP SP2
HDD- SATA Seagate 500 Gb
We were just going to go get him a new drive. Wanted a second opinion first though.
try booting without the hard drive plugged in (without Molux and S-Ata cables) and after it tells you that there is indeed no hard Drive, plug it back in and reboot.
This can help in some cases.
If not, you might be looking at a faulty hard drive.
Try with one of your hard drives instead.
