So I am told my new laptop should run games much better than my old PC but still not very well. I tried out CoD4 on it and I was getting 15fps. I get about 20fps on my old PC. Any reason for this? I tried installing new drivers but I was told to contact the manufacturer for drivers because the Windows 7 ones were in beta version. This is like my 10th thread recently and hopefully my last.
Old card: Radeon X300SE 128MB
New: Radeon HD 3200 256MB
Mainly because that graphics card is a piece of shit.
Also put rest of comp specs please.
I know it sucks but it should be better than my old one.
Specs: Some kind of AMD dual core, CPUID says its 1GHz...... it has to be shitting me
4GB RAM
Windows 7 32bit (with 4GB of RAM......)
300GB 7200 RPM HDD
Can't really think of anything else you'd need. If I missed something let me know.
Did you happen to buy a acer emachine?
It's acer. Not sure about emachine, I got it as a gift or I would have gotten a desktop.
Maybe because your desktop had more power than the laptop.
Laptops suck for gaming. Everything is made to save power so evrything is slow.
Make sure your laptop isnt in energy saving mode.
It's the card. It's not very good. Sorry.
I was lied to! Its not on power saver mode but my old pc broke while installing new CPU fan and HDD so I'm about 90% sure it won't boot up because of mobo(was getting very old).
My friend's laptop with integrated intel runs cod4 better
Just get a desktop or build your own laptop.

What?

That'd be pretty sweet.
And if your new laptopis supposed to run games better than your desktop (assuming that's what you mean by 'my old pc'), you either have one really shit PC or whoever said that needs to take a hammer and apply some of ye olde blunt force. I did some looking around and apparently the HD 3200 is absolute shite on newer games.
Although why you'd want to play 'newer' (bit of a vague term) games on a friggin' laptop is beyond me.
Do you happen to have the Acer Aspire 5517? I picked up the same one at best buy and the CPU is a AMD Athlon 64 x2 L310 1.2Ghz.
You could always upgrade the processor like this guy did, he has the exact same laptop.

I think you are correct GMOD ftw and dutchah I got it as a gift. My old computer is completely shit single core, 1GB RAM, etc.
Edit: Holy fuck 1.2GHz I thought CPUID was bullshitting me or they underclocked it to save power.... My old single core is better. Will my Pentium 4 fit in my mobo I have a Pentium 3 in?

No, different sockets. Get a low end Core 2 Duo, they are pretty cheap now.
Why would I get Core 2 Duo when I can get new mobo and AMD 64 X2 for the same price?
Why do you ask then? Seriously, just do it.
